Remember Pearl Harbor

On Sunday, December 7, 1941, at 7:55 a.m., the first of 353 Japanese planes dropped their bombs and torpedoes on Pearl Harbor and Hickam Field at O’ahu, Hawaii.  In the end, 240s Americans lost their lives, and an additional 1,282 were wounded.

Eight U.S. Navy battleships were damages—four were sunk.  Three cruisers, three destroyers, a mine-layer and a training ship were also damaged or sunk.

May we, in their memory and in their honor, vow to be always vigilant, never complacent, strong, never weak.  And may we give to our country an equal measure of their sacrifice, even our lives.

God bless the warriors of Pearl Harbor and their families, and God bless the United States of America.
